| Black Skimmer Skull - The skimmer, named for its low flying foraging technique, can be found along the North American Atlantic, Pacific and Gulf coasts as well as a large region of South America. This species uses its laterally compressed mandible to slice through the water while it skims the surface searching for prey. Skimmers feed on various species of small fish including anchovies, silversides and killifish. |
