The Bovidae is comprised of 138 species, including the antelope, cattle, bison or buffalo, goats, and sheep of the world. The males of this family, and a few females, have ever growing horns. They are some of the worlds largest land animals and comprise much of the diets of many of the large carnivores of the world. All Bovidae are members of the Artiodactyla.

Deformed Calf Skull Natural Bone |
Bos taurus This one of a kind domestic cattle calf was stillborn with a severe facial deformation. The whole front maxillary portion of the skull is split to the cranium. This split allowed the lower jaw to grow upward and fill the void. The specimen is lacking a cranial vault and would have left little or no space for a brain. We have never seen, or even heard of a specimen like this. This is truly a unique skull. Display Stand included.
