Dalmatian Skull - This breed originated in the 1400's in the European region called Dalmatia, now Croatia (formerly Yugoslavia). The Dalmatian was once used as a cart dog, but gained popularity in England in the 1800's as a "fire house dog", a stereotype still used today. With its black spots on a solid white body, the Dalmatian is probably the easiest recognized dog breed.
