| Gigantopithecus blacki Skull - This species was first described from a single tooth by German paleontologist Ralph von Koenigswald in 1935. Many other teeth and jaw fragments have since been found, but there is still much debate about the validity and classification of this species. This specimen was sculpted by the late Dr. Grover Krantz, a noted and somewhat controversial Anthropology Professor at Washington State University. Dr. Krantz believed Gigantopithecus could be the ancestor to the legendary "big foot." |
