| Hartebeest Skull - The Lichtenstein's Hartebeest, Sigmoceros lichtensteinii, is native to southeastern Africa. This hartebeest is described as an "edge" species, making use of both grassland and woodland habitats. The Lichtenstein's hartebeest has a reduced forehead pedicel as well as characteristically distinctive horns, making this species easily distinguishable from the Red hartebeest and its subspecies. Horns are present in both males and females of this species. View Other Artiodactyla Skulls |
