Monitor Lizard Skull - There are more than 40 species of monitor lizards World Wide. Most varanids (members of the monitor lizard family) are fairly large with the largest being the Komodo Dragon, Varanus komodoensis. Monitors inhabit a variety of climate and habitat types ranging from the hot, dry deserts of Africa and Australia to the lush, moist rain forests of Asia.
