Skulls Unlimited is Legal!

It was 21 years ago this month that Skulls Unlimited was born. Started by Jay Villemarette in 1986, the evolution of Skulls Unlimited came about somewhat by chance. As some of you may remember, the economy in the mid-eighties was less than booming. Jay being trained as an auto body technician, had a difficult time finding steady work. Having long been a skull collector, Jay got the idea to supplement his income by preparing and selling skulls from his home. Finding a demand in this niche market, Jay decided to break out and begin selling skulls full time. As business improved, Jay moved from his kitchen to a portable building in his back yard and later to a retail storefront. Back then, it would have been hard to imagine the company that is now Skulls Unlimited International, Inc. With a 14,000 square foot custom built facility and fifteen employees, Skulls Unlimited remains the leading supplier of osteological specimens in the world. So happy 21st birthday to Skulls Unlimited and next time you see us, feel free to buy us a drink!

Dirty Jobs; "Skull Cleaner" Re-edit
Jay shows Mike how to work the beetle colonies. | Close up with dermestid beetles.

The Discovery Channel´s Dirty Jobs will soon be airing a re-edited version of the episode featuring Skulls Unlimited. This new version will be part of a special called "Creepy Critters" and will presumably focus on our dermestid beetles. We are anticipating this edit to contain a little more of the "too graphic for Discovery" content. We will post show times when they are available.

Muntjac Deer Skull Muntiacus reeves
The Reeve's muntjac, also called the Chinese muntjac, is native to China and Taiwan, but has been introduced to parts of Europe where they are now a feral species. Male muntjacs, like other deer, grow and shed antlers annually. However, unlike other deer, muntjac antlers are fairly small and not used for sparing. Instead, they grow large canines for this purpose. Skulls Unlimited is now offering a limited selection of complete male muntjac deer on our one-of-a-kind horns and antlers page.
