| Przewalski's Horse Skull - The Przewalski’s horse, named after the Russian explorer who discovered this species in 1897, is native to high altitudes in western Mongolia. This sub-species, although considered its own distinct species by some taxonomists, is the only true wild horse existing today. The Przewalski’s horse have not been seen in the wild since the 1960’s and exists only in zoos and captive breeding programs. It is estimated that there are as few as 1500 non-hybrid Przewalski’s living today. |
