Bustards,Floricans & Korhaans
the family Otididae, formerly known as Otidae, consists of 26 species of bustards, floricans and korhaans. These large, gregarious, omnivorous birds are primarily terrestrial. They walk steadily on strong legs, pecking for food as they go. Many members of this species have interesting mating displays, such as inflating throat sacs or elevating elaborate feathered crests. They were renowned by the ancient Arabs for being unusually stupid.
