The family Turdidae is a group of approximately 135 species of passerine birds commonly known as Thrushes. Thrushes are plump, soft-plumaged, small to medium-sized birds, inhabiting wooded areas. Generally, thrush are insectivorous but most species also eat worms, snails, and fruit. The songs of some members of this family are considered to be among the most beautiful in the avian world.
