We realize that the giant squid is not a cartilaginous fish. Since we currently does not offer any other cephalopod items, we have chosen to include this item here for lack of a more taxonomically correct place.
The family Architeuthidae consists of eight known species of giant squid. Giant squid can grow to a tremendous size with males reaching an overall length of 33 feet and famles reaching up to 43 feet. Like all squid, giant squid have a torso called a mantle, eight arms, and two longer tentacles. The arms and tentacles account for much of the squid's great length.
