Tree Hyrax Skull - The tree hyrax, native to Africa from Kenya to South Africa, inhabits forested areas. Unlike other hyrax species, the tree hyrax nests in hollow trees. Hyrax, as a species, are unusual among mammals in the fact that they are ectothermic and their body temperature can fluctuate with external temperature.
