Elephantulus rufescens, native to the savannah of sub-Saharan Africa, red-rumped elephant shrews are mostly insectivorous; feeding on ants, termites, and beetles. This specimen was pre-cleaned in Africa.

In order to keep costs down, Skulls Unlimited has chosen not to do any additional cleaning. Although this specimen appears to be complete, small elements may be missing. Therefore, this specimen is priced accordingly.
