| Southern Two-toed Sloth - There are two species of two-toed sloths, the Hoffmann’s and the Southern, both native to the tropical rainforests of Central and South America. Both of these get their common name from the two toes found on their front limbs. These herbaceous treetop dwellers are very slow moving. This, combined with the humid wet climate they inhabit, allows algae to grow on their pelage giving them a greenish tint and aiding in camouflage.
