Real Cave Bear Fossilized Baculum

The cave bear was a prehistoric species of bear that inhabited Europe and Asia during the Pleistocene epoch. Known for its massive size, with some individuals reaching up to 11 feet in length, the cave bear had a robust build and a pronounced hump on its shoulders. Despite its name, the cave bear did not exclusively live in caves; it primarily inhabited forested areas and used caves for hibernation. Unfortunately, the cave bear became extinct around the end of the last Ice Age, possibly due to a combination of environmental changes and human activities.
