The Asian Palm Civet (Paradoxurus hermaphroditus) ranges in Southeast Asia from Kashmir and Southern China to the Philippines and Sunda Islands. It inhabits tropical rainforests where it forages for food at night. This small omnivore - a member of the Viverridae family - is known to feed on berries, fruits, insects, and small vertebrates. The Asian palm civet is not only a popular pet in Indonesia, but is also utilized in the unique production process of kopi luwak coffee.
