The Collared Peccary (Dicotyles tajacu) is a species of mammal found in North, Central, and South America. Collared peccaries are omnivorous, commonly feeding on cactus, fruits, roots, grasses, invertebrates, and small vertebrates. The main predators of this species are cougars, Mexican wolves, coyotes, jaguars, and bobcats. They will attack when threatened, using their tusks for defense.
