Details
The softshell turtle is part of the Trionychidae family. They are a freshwater turtle some are known to live in brackish waters as well. The name comes from the lack of scales like other turtles the main part of their back is made from bone but the outer edges. In parts of the East Asia softshell turtles are eaten as a delicacy, mixing with chicken in a stew.
