The Spanish goat is one of the oldest breeds as well as the most common in the United States. They are sometimes referred to as brush goats in the southern U.S. or scrub goats in the north. The Spanish goat is a tough and hardy animal that can survive and thrive in harsh environments. Both bucks and does grow horns, and a male's horns will normally be larger and more twisted than a female's. They will eat almost anything, including poisonous vegetation which makes them highly useful for clearing brush and undesirable plant species from the land.
