Native to the South American rainforest, the squirrel monkey is the smallest of the Cebidae primates. This species is gregarious, diurnal and arboreal, spending much of its time foraging high in the canopy. Squirrel monkeys have an omnivorous diet consisting of leaves, fruits, and various invertebrates.
