Real Southern Toad Skull
The southern toad is a common amphibian found throughout the southeastern United States, often in sandy soils near forests, gardens, and wetlands. It’s easily recognized by the two prominent knobs, or “cranial crests,” on its head and its bumpy, brownish skin. Nocturnal and insectivorous, the southern toad plays an important role in controlling pest populations.
