The swift fox is a small, nocturnal canid native to the grasslands of North America, particularly the Great Plains. It has a slender build with a grayish-tan coat, a black-tipped tail, and measures about 12 inches (30 cm) tall at the shoulder. Swift foxes are known for their agility and speed, which they use to hunt small mammals, birds, and insects.
