The Brown Catshark, also known as Apristurus brunneus, is a small shark species found in the eastern Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. It belongs to the family Scyliorhinidae, characterized by its slender body and cat-like eyes. Brown Catsharks inhabit continental slopes and deep-sea habitats, where they feed on small fish, crustaceans, and cephalopods. They are nocturnal hunters, often resting on the seabed during the day and actively foraging at night. Despite being relatively common, their biology and behavior remain poorly understood due to their deep-sea habitat.
