Dobermann Pinschers were bred to be guard dogs in the 19th century; they are smart, alert, and incredibly loyal companions. They are believed to be a mixture of several breeds, including the Rottweiler and German Pinscher. Easily trainable and highly intelligent, this breed does well performing police and military work.
