The coatimundi, sometimes simply called the coati, is a member of the raccoon family Procyonidae. The White-nosed coati is native to a few regions of the southwestern US. The brown-nosed coati is native to Central and South America. The mountain coati is found exclusively in South America. They have a flexible, moveable snout, which they use to forage for fruit, invertebrates, and other animal matter.
