Real Green Chafer Beetle Wet Specimen
The green chafer beetle is a species of scarab beetle known for its shiny, metallic green coloration. These beetles are commonly found in gardens, meadows, and agricultural areas, where they feed on plant matter such as leaves and flowers. Adults are often active during the summer months and are attracted to light. The larvae, or grubs, live in the soil and feed on plant roots, sometimes causing damage to crops and lawns. Despite their sometimes destructive nature, these beetles play a role in soil aeration and nutrient cycling.
