The springhare is a unique and lesser-known mammal native to the African continent. Distinctive for their long and powerful hind legs, springhares are remarkable jumpers. They use their legs to propel themselves into the air, covering impressive distances of up to 10 feet (3 meters). This ability aids them in escaping predators and moving across their environment efficiently. Springhares are primarily nocturnal, emerging at night to forage for their vegetarian diet, which mainly consists of grasses, leaves, and other plant materials.
