A flight of hominins.
I recently ordered 3 types of hominin skulls and femurs to use in a mock archaeological dig for a middle school science class. I ordered human, **** erectus (Peking man) and Aust. afarensis (male). All were beautifully done and durable enough to bury and excavate unharmed. In particular the human and the **** erectus skulls looked remarkably accurate. The afarensis was not as accurate. For comparison sake this did not matter except for the teeth, which should have been larger than the other two. Using epoxy, we added some bulk to the teeth allowing students to see the trend in tooth size between the 3 species.
