The babirusa is a unique species of wild pig native to the islands of Sulawesi, Togian, Sula, and Buru in Indonesia. Belonging to the family Suidae, it is characterized by its peculiar appearance, including prominent tusks that curve upward from the lower jaw and can grow to impressive lengths. Babirusas inhabit tropical forests and are primarily herbivorous, feeding on a diet of fruits, leaves, and other vegetation. They are known for their social behaviors and are often found in small groups or family units.
