Replica False Gavial Skull (28 in.)
The term "false gavial" typically refers to the Indian false gharial, a species of crocodilian found in Southeast Asia. Despite its name, it is not a true gavial but shares some morphological similarities. The Indian false gharial has a slender snout resembling that of a true gavial, long jaws, and distinct nostril placement. These semi-aquatic reptiles inhabit rivers, swamps, and lakes, primarily feeding on fish and other aquatic prey.
