Details
In humans, the upper part of the sacrum connects with the last lumbar vertebra, and its lower part with the coccyx. Usually, the sacrum begins as five unfused vertebrae. These vertebrae begin to fuse between the ages of 16 and 18 years of age. These bones usually fuse completely into a single bone by the age of 34 years. This replica sacrum would make a great addition to a doctor's office or anatomy classroom. Please see photos for details.
