The Komodo Dragon is native to the Komodo Islands and is the largest lizard alive today. Reaching a length of 10 feet, this large predator is the top of its island food chain. Their unusually large size has been attributed to island gigantism, since no other carnivorous animals fill the niche on the islands where they live.
