The Weddell seal is a large, ice-dwelling seal native to Antarctica, where it inhabits the icy waters and coastal regions around the continent. Known for its impressive diving abilities, Weddell seals can dive to depths of over 600 meters and hold their breath for up to 80 minutes while hunting for fish, squid, and other marine creatures. They are well-adapted to the harsh Antarctic environment, with thick blubber for insulation and the ability to create breathing holes in the ice using their strong teeth.
