Felis silvestris gordoni
Skull cast was very good - clear sutures, no missing teeth, no wear (clear cusps and structures), and minimal to no damage to the mandible. The subspecies I received was labeled a Felis silvestris gordoni (Gordon’s wildcat). As I need small-bodied Felids, and read reviews for more details than are included in the listing, I have included the updated taxonomy for those that would be interested when deciding to purchase this specimen: F. s. gordoni is also known as the Arabian wildcat (now Felis lybica lybica, as F. s. gordoni was subsumed within F. lybica phylogenetically, and is considered a subspecies of F. lybica).
Wild About Wildcats!
This is a great little skull, and was the first Wildcat skull of my now extensive collection of African Wildcat skulls. It even inspired me to mold and cast my own, from one of my real African Wildcat skulls! See? It's addictive! And it's a finely made product! Thanks gang!
