Skulls Unlimited's frozen canine and feline cadavers are a valuable educational tool for veterinary students and practitioners. They provide a realistic, hands-on learning experience for practicing procedures and techniques such as surgeries, necropsies, dissections, and tissue sampling. Using cadavers allows students to refine their skills in a controlled environment before working on live animals.
Please be aware of the following:
- Specimens are only available to veterinarians and educational institutions.
- Specimens are shipped via Priority Overnight a minimum of three weeks from the date of purchase.
- Our cadaver shipping schedule is Monday and Tuesday only.
- Specimens can only be shipped within the United States and cannot be delivered to a residence.
- Special requests (such as dentition quality, size, age, sex, etc.) cannot be guaranteed and may require a 10% surcharge. Please call us at 405-794-9300 if you have specific requirements.
Specifications:
- Sold individually.
- All specimens are shipped fresh, frozen, and contain no chemical preservatives.
- Size options apply only to full-body specimens.
- Preferred delivery dates are not guaranteed. Saturday delivery may be available; call our sales team for arrangements.
- Specimens cannot be delivered on Sundays or Mondays.
What condition are cadavers provided in?
All cadavers are legally and ethically sourced. Each specimen is frozen for a minimum of 72 hours before shipping. No preservation chemicals are used at any point.
Do cadavers come with guaranteed dentition?
The standard is “good dentition,” meaning at least 70% of teeth with normal wear. We work to ensure all canines, premolars, and molars are present, though some incisors may be missing. If full dentition is required, please contact us for details. A special request fee applies for full dentition or other atypical requests.
Can I request specific dentition, such as full teeth or missing teeth?
Yes. Requests outside the standard require a special request fee, which is a 10% markup for each affected SKU. For felines, “full teeth” means all canines, premolars, and molars, plus most incisors. We cannot guarantee every incisor. Please contact us for more information.
When are cadavers delivered?
Before checkout, you will select a preferred delivery date on Wednesday or Thursday. We avoid Friday deliveries to reduce the risk of delays. Weeks with major holidays may not be available. Tuesday delivery may be arranged upon request. Based on the shipping speed chosen at checkout, we schedule the ship date one to two days before your preferred delivery date.
Are there restrictions on ordering cadavers?
Cadaver orders are limited to qualified professionals, such as veterinarians, veterinary schools, and approved institutions. Each order is reviewed before confirmation.
Can I order a specific size, breed, or age?
We accept requests for general size categories (small, medium, large) on full-body specimens. Exact breed or age cannot be guaranteed. Please contact us if you have specific requirements.
