Lizards are reptiles that belong to the group called Squamata. They have scaly skin, four legs (in most species), and long bodies. Lizards are incredibly diverse, with species ranging from tiny geckos to large Komodo dragons. They are cold-blooded, meaning they rely on external heat sources to regulate their body temperature. Most lizards have excellent vision, and many can regenerate lost tails as a defense mechanism.
