Replica Sabertooth Cat Skull - Eusmilus sicarius
Sabertooth cat Eusmilus sicarius skull (Sinclair & Jepsen 1927). Occurence Mid-Whitneyan to early Arikareean (30,5-28.5 MYBP), South Dakota. One of the smaller Nimravids of the Oligocene, this species is noted for its very long, compressed sabers. It is an excellent example of a dirk-tooth saber cat. This specimen's deciduous sabers are in place and the permanent sabers erupting.
