Probably the largest, most complete Sabertooth Cat found near the tar-pits in Los Angeles. This individual is remarkable in that it has its septum intact and has virtually no reconstruction. The sabers (over 10 inches long) are complete and removable. The jaw, as well as the sabers, were found associated with the skull. The molding and casting process captured the nasal cavity, with its septum as well as the cavities where the sabers go. Found in the 1930s across the street from the La Brea Tar Pits. The site was immediately closed and is now under a bank building.

Looks stunning. I don’t know that a lay person could tell it’s a replica, even looking at it from six inches away. The stand is made of metal and is extremely sturdy, which is great because the skull itself has more heft to it than I thought it would. Very well packaged and order arrived exactly in promised time-frame. BTW, I found out this existed because there is an HBO show with an attorney character that has a Smilodon skull in a case on his desk. A google search of “saber tooth tiger skull for sale” revealed that one can get insane stuff like this to put on a desk without access to a props department. Thanks!
Excellent replica. No complaints.
Gorgeous, only the real thing cold be better!
I got this for my dad for Christmas, My mom went into his office and thought he was taking a nap on the couch, but he was actually just laying there staring at the skull on the table.
The skull was in perfect condition when it arrived. The quality is great and it looks fairly realistic. It was a Christmas gift for my husband so the only bad thing is it was on back order so it came the week after Christmas. He still loved it though!
